Neighbors across Northern Michigan are working together to respond to the devasting ice storm that hit the area during the first weekend in April. Many individuals, families, and communities in Alcona, Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Crawford, Emmet, Mackinac, Montmorency, Presque Isle, Oscoda, and Otsego Counties are without power, fuel, and water access and clean-up efforts are ongoing.
To support our neighbors and first responders across these communities, please consider a donation to one of the community foundations that serve the impacted counties.
Each of these community foundations have activated their emergency needs funds, which aim to provide quick grants to nonprofit, governmental, and Tribal organizations during times of crisis like this.
- Charlevoix County Community Foundation's Urgent Needs Fund
- Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan's Urgent Needs Fund
- Mackinac Island Community Foundation's Island Essential Needs Fund
- Petoskey-Harbor Springs Community Foundation's Emergency Response Fund
- Otsego Community Foundation's Disaster Response Fund
Grants from these funds can help cover a variety of needs, such as food and basic supplies, housing and utility assistance, medical support, repairs and recovery efforts, operational disruption support, and long-term community resiliency efforts.
For organizations interested in applying for emergency needs grants, please reach out to each community foundation directly and consult their specific grant guidelines.
