The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation’s Anchor and Heart Endowment recently awarded a $94,320 grant to the Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital, supporting its new specialty clinic in downtown Frankfort.
The Memorial Hospital’s new clinic offers local patients and families services that they can access closer to home in the areas of cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedic surgery, sleep disorders, wound care, and urology.
“Supporting this new clinic is one way that we can help increase access to vital healthcare services in both Frankfort and Benzie County at-large,” said Steve Wade, Vice President of Community Impact at the Community Foundation. “Having accessible healthcare is crucial to building healthy, resilient, thriving communities across our region.”
Established in 2007, the Anchor and Heart Endowment is designed to provide grants to Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital and to support the healthcare needs of Benzie County residents. Local residents Philip Meek, Courtney Morris, Bill Parris, Roger Perry, and Suzy Voltz currently serve on the Anchor and Heart Endowment fund advisory committee. Together, committee members review and recommend grant awards each year.
The Community Foundation’s Anchor and Heart Endowment currently holds $2.9 million in assets and, since inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $1 million in grants to the Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital.
