Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Capital Campaign Fund
Since 1964, the residents of our region have relied on the YMCA to add value to their lives. The need for us to maintain the quality of our programs, while expanding what we offer has placed unrealistic demands on our current facility. For the YMCA to continue its positive impact on our community, we must enlarge and expand our facilities for the more than 13,000 kids, teens, and adults who flock to our programs each year.
The impact the New Y will have on our community will be immediate. This new facility will allow the YMCA to accomplish five major community initiatives:
- Every Kid Can Swim - offer aquatics programming for the 25,000+ kids in the YMCA service area
- Improve Health and Wellness - expand fitness programs, leveraging YMCA of the USA programming
- Provide Affordable Daycare - provide year-round, quality day care for area families
- Teen Action Agenda - expand evening, weekend, and summer programming and activities and offer a space allocated specifically for teens
- No One Denied - expand the reach of the YMCA's financial assistance policy to ensure all residents of our community have access to the new Y and its enhanced programming
